VIDEO: Roger Hall Design Encounter, supporting California Design 1930 – 1965: Living in a Modern Way at Auckland Art Gallery

The purpose of this talk is to present some examples of how California design from the period 1930 to 1965 has had an influence on present day surfboard trends.

I choose  examples that have had a profound effect on my own surfboard shaping over the years as well as ones which I believe are particularly relevant to current global trends.

My talk was directed at a general audience and intended to prick the interest of the listener.

My hope is that as a result, more people may delve into the rich cultural history of our magnificent past time that is: Surfing!

For those of you that couldn’t make it along to the talk and that have expressed an interest, Jamie Jermain from Digital Flow captured the moment.
