Ace of Diamonds

In 1973, at the age of 15, I shaped a board which over time revealed itself to be something rather special. The Ace of Diamonds is effectively a re-issue of that magic board. This modern day recreation of that first Diamond Tail is a pleasure to ride! The overall design is pure 1970's in all the key elements with flat rocker, generous volume, and soft forgiving rails. The Ace is a good paddler and fast under foot. The bottom contours are comprised of a smoothly blended mix of slight nose entry Vee flowing through a mellow front foot concave (accelerator pedal) with a Vee through the back foot area (rail to rail transition) flattening out off the tail. The Diamond Tail's area and crisp edges give a nice "push back" under the back foot out of turns adding a lively spark to the overall authentic 1970's Single Fin feel. In short: it's a joy!
